This is a tool for making your own deep tuttle boxes. Wax the pug, laminate fiberglass or carbon fiber material around, remove the plug when resin is set.This tool can be used for:- making fin boxes that will be installed in boards- forming a fin box right in the board for better strength and reduced cost.Material is steel for long life. Steel makes this tool heavy so when you form a fin box right on a board you do not need to clamp it because it stays flash with the board due to its own weight. The weight compresses composite laminate so the finished surface needs very little sanding. Put this plug into an oven to get it some 120F before laminating. Heat will make resin flow better to reduce bubbles and it will set faster. Because the tool is made out of steel (not aluminum) it has high thermal mass so it holds its the temperature long enough to finish the job. Perfect for work on your board during cold seasons.The hols are M6. Use them if you need to form a box with tubes for thicker boards.
