1863 Die #6 Great Britain Young Queen Victoria Head &Shield Gold Sovereign NICE - $9,636 - (Vancouver, WA)

Great Britain YOUNG Queen Victoria Sovereign 1863 Die #6 featuring. Each young Victoria head Sovereign contains .2354 oz. AGW. The total 1863 gold sovereign mintage is 5,921699 of which the majority of coins no longer exist! Commencing mid-year 1863, the Royal Mint introduced a die numbering regime for quality control by tracking the coin, die and coin press operator with ours marked #6 of 27 die numbers! What this means to you, the collector/investor, is the number of sovereigns minted with each die # is limited especially with regard to coin survival and condition! In our opinion, this 1863 #6 Gold Sovereign is a well struck coin exhibiting Royal Mint errors with a young Victoria obverse with a lustrous circular band around the double die letters and her portraits' double die back of neck while the lustrous shield reverse also displays faint clashed die characteristics around the shield, with die #6. Notice the detail in Her Majesty's hair and the legend around her along with the reverse shield's and wreath details! The Young Victoria obverse is designed by William Wyon and the Shield reverse is designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen. Please note that coin conditions & grading are subjective and eye of the beholder, so view actual item images for more details! All measurements & grading are approximate! Guaranteed genuine and this coin is rare in this fine state of preservation! Free shipping and 30 day money back guarantee!
