We believe it to be an Engineering Prototype or Custom Design.Consignment sale for an audiophile who is downsizing. Our client acquired if from the estate of an even bigger audiophile and was told that the original owner paid $31,000 for it. We do not have any documentation to support that. It is a hybrid design, with a solid state front end and Single Ended KT88 power section. The PCBs include surface mount components, which we find indicative of a professional product rather than a hobby effort. It is devoid of any maker's marks that we can see and our best guess is that it was an engineering prototype from a high end audio manufacturer.Our client reports listening to it for a few weeks, during which it sounded magnificent, before it quit in the middle of a record. No attempt at fault finding was made.Available for local pickup only from Borger, TX 79007. Please contact us for methods of payment upon collection.
