2 Antique Carved Italian Blackamoor Statues 92” Tall - $19,999 - (New Canaan, CT)
This is a magnificent pair of hand carved 19th century painted and carved Blackamoors with partial gilding. They come as a pair, a left one and a right one. One is male, and the other is female. They stand 92” high, including the height of the candles. They are beautifully carved and are very lifelike, with much detailing. These are not mass produced items. They really have to be seen to appreciate their beauty. The figures appear to be Indian, with a tremendous amount of attention to muscular and anatomical detailing. They are not for every house, but you will search long and hard to find another pair of this quality and size.
