I fell in love with this painting, I bought this at Auction in NJ. This painting is meant for a high end home the auction had it appraised at $15k to $20k but this painting deserves more. Carl Christian Forup ( 1883-1939) Danish listed artist.Oil on canvas. Signed. Framed. Size: 63" x 58.5" approx Framed in a wooden framed with gold bronze paint. A few signs of age and wear. In excellent condition . ? See photos. ?A beautiful and vivid painting, held in clear and bright colors. The artist made several travels to Italy from the late 1920s. This work is presumably from his travel in 1928, where he visited Capri and Sora. Forup studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 1902-06. In 1910 he made further studies in Paris, as a pupil of Henri Matisse. He is represented at several Danish museums. His works are often seen at Danish and internaitonal auction houses, where especilaly his motifs from Italy reach high prices.
