This particular horn is built in large bore (.468") and has a bell diameter of 4 5/8". It plays in Bb with a pull slide which puts the horn in A, and it also features a change valve which can raise the horn to C. In addition the horn comes with a full second set of valve slides so that the horn can play more in tune when switched from Bb to C, and also a couple of original mouthpieces that are a bit the worse for wear, one of which looks like it may have been modified. This horn looks quite pretty, the valves have good compression and the slides all move of course. Here is what Conn said about this instrument at the time: "The Wonder Vocal cornet is the most practical C, Bb and A cornet ever built, not alone because of its ease of adjustment from C to Bb and A but also for its easy blowing qualities and rich vocal tone when played in C. It is especially suited for choral and home use, as it plays from piano and song scores without transposition. When in Bb or A the Wonder Vocal cornet is a fine cornet for work in bands and orchestras." This horn is has its original satin silver finish. The engraving is in great shape, and reads “MADE BY/ C.G. CONN LTD./ ELKHART IND./ U.S.A.” As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few extremely small dings on the horn as well as a few areas of missing silver plate. The gold wash in the bell is in good condition, but does have some light scratches in the finish. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn.
