McIntosh MR80 Digital FM Tuner in Cabinet and a Copy of Manual Powers/Scans This nice super cool vintage McIntosh MR80 Digital FM tuner in the original walnut wood casing is pre-owned. It has been tested to power on and does so without any problems. We were easily able to scan through all the channels all the way without any issues. All the dials work as they should. This included volume and the speed rate dial which you want your scanning to run on. We were not able to pick up anything clearly when we scanned. We do live in a rather secluded area and usually do not pick up anything on any radios when there isn't an antenna installed. There is no antenna included with this tuner but if you are secluded like we are you are going to need one if you want to hear more then static. The headphone jack was tested to ensure it worked without any issues and it does. This tuner does sit in this walnut casing but the two screws located on the back of this unit that keeps it locked in position are stripped and will need to be replaced. So yes this unit can currently slide out of the casing until the screws are replaced. There are a couple scratches on the walnut casing as shown in the photos.
