1926 Elkhart Conn 84A"Victor"Opera Glass--Trumpet Shank/Bore 80A Cornet,Case,Mpc - $540 - (Carson City, NV)

Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. For more information about our business, please feel free to visit our Ebay Profile at http://www.ebay.com/usr/silver_brass_music Here is a 1926 Conn 84A "Victor"(Serial Number 231772). The bore of the horn is Conn #1 bore (Conn's standard trumpet bore). The bell is 4 5/8". This horn has had the original leadpipe replaced, and it has had a guard added to the second valve slide. The mouthpiece receiver is trumpet shank, and the horn will come with a cornet adapter as well. This horn plays very well. The valves have good compression, especially considering their age, but they do have some light surface pitting. The slides all move of course--the complicated "Change to A" tuning mechanism is still fully intact and functioning. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few small dings and pings as well as some areas of light scratching in the silver finish. There is also several areas where the silver has worn through to the brass. The bell engraving is in excellent shape, and the text of the engraving reads “MADE BY/ C.G. CONN LTD./ ELKHART-IND./ U.S.A.”. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This trumpet comes with a somewhat worn case and a mouthpiece in good condition. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop 710 N. Curry St. Carson City, NV89703(775) 691-9737
