Elegant, gold and garnet earrings from the Georgian Period. Swirls of gold with hand-chased detailing frame a substantial carbuncle garnet with deep color. Gold wires with balls may be original or are early replacements. Measures 1-1/4" long by 3/4" wide. Very good condition for age. Some nominal surface wear on gold. One of small gold balls on wires has impressions--easily replacement if one finds it necessary. Made in the United Kingdom and dates to approximately the 1830's.
