Here is what Conn said in their catalogs at the time: "The new Conn 8B Trumpet is a feather-light masterpiece ... brilliant in tone, so light in weight... skillfully created by the world's finest craftsmen.Conn 8B: Anti-Bounce Valves, Honed Pistons, Positive Valve Indexing, Protected Covered Springs, Undercut Tuning Slides, LustreConn Finish, Full, Wide Left Hand Grip, Adjustable 3rd Valve Throw Ring, 3rd Valve Stop Rod, Acoustically Superior Calibore, Total Weight only 38 ounces." This horn looks great and plays very well. The valves feel good with very good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few small dings and pings as well as some light areas of isolated etching, scratching, and pitting. The bell has some slight waviness. The bell engraving reads: “C.G. CONN/ 8-B/ ELKHART-IND.” All this is visible in the pictures, and none of the minor flaws affect the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now--if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina.
