The bore of the horn is .457". The bell is 4 3/4". The bell engraving reads: “HENRI/ SELMER/ PARIS/ DÉPOSÉ/ GRANDS PRIX/ GENÈVE 1927 LIÈGE 1930/ H. SELMER/ 4. PLACE DANCOURT/ PARIS/ MADE IN FRANCE.” The leadpipe has: “BB/ MB/ LP/ 21” stamped on the mouthpiece receiver. The second valve casing also has the “Henri Selmer Paris” logo stamped above the serial number. This horn looks very nice and plays very well. The valves have good compression and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few minuscule pings and nicks as well as some light etching, scratching, and pitting. There is one small patch on the second slide. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now--if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina.
