1st Year 1959 Aluminum Specialty Co. Manitowoc, Wis. 4' Aluminum Christmas Tree IOB RARE An Estate Sale Find made by Aluminum Specialty Co. Manitowoc, Wisconsin 58 Branch - Stainless Aluminum Christmas Tree No. 4554 in original box.1959 was the first production year for this tree. Complete with instructions booklet, metal stand, original storage die cut cardboard trays and Foil fabric tree skirt made by Rap-In-Wax Paper Company FR 2120 November 1958. Missing is the polyethylene storage cover. Condition of the foil limbs is fair/good, due to the owner not following the instructions when storing, the foil was to be left in the extended position and stored in the cardboard trays and covered with the plastic cover but instead they released the tape that held them. Most are good but some will have to be repaired by someone with more patience then I. The box shows tape damage and shelf wear. Overall in good used condition. The original Evergleams sold at 10 to 25 bucks back in the day, this box has a handwritten 15.00 price. History of the boughs of finely cut foil were derived from tiny strips of metal called chaff dropped by World War II planes to scramble enemy radar.
