WWII 1943 Japanese Shin Gunto Katana Signed & Dated Type 98 Sword - $1,149 - (Boise, ID)

This is a beautiful example of an officer's Type 98 Shin Gunto. It is dated 1943 on one side, and signed by the maker on the other side. I believe the maker is Kunifusa, but am not 100% sure. All the seppa, fuchi, chuso, and tsuba have matching numbers. There are 3 Nagoya stamps. The blade is straight, smooth, and sharp. There are some surface stains as in photos. No nicks on cutting edge. Locking mechanism works well and secures to scabbard tightly. Tsuka secures firmly to the blade. Tsuka ito wrapping is in good shape. Rayskin is also in good shape. Dimensions: Blade (tip end to tang end) is 34 5/8 Cutting edge (tip to habaki) is 26 1/4 Overall length in scabbard is 38 3/4 Please contact me with questions or requests for more photos.
