Unique Handmade Butterfly Brooch Metal: Sterling SilverGemstones: Blue Topaz, White Topaz, Garnet, Amethyst, Citrine Three butterflies dance happily, delighted to adorn your shoulder. These butterflies are embellished with precious gemstones of Blue Topaz, White Topaz, Amethyst, Garnet, and Citrine. I drew the butterflies then cut them out of a sheet of Sterling Silver. I used some of my extensive collection of antique, vintage and contemporary metalsmithing tools to "draw" the designs into the metal, then drilled holes to hold the Sterling Silver wires which hold the gemstone beads. These are designed to be kinetic, so they move a bit as you move - adding to the illusion that the butterflies are gently fluttering on your shoulder. The brooch is about 4 1/4" long, and almost 2" high. It is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. This one of a kind, unique brooch is inspired by the butterflies I see on the flowers I plant in my garden outside my studio windows. They dance amongst the flowers, and I attempted to capture that in this brooch. I would be happy to create a custom item of jewelry for you - just message me to discuss.
