Vintage New Bachmann Big Hauler G Scale Train The Prospector Davenport Engine - $345 - (Boody, IL)
This hard to find set is new and unused. I did open the controller to test the train out, so the controller is not sealed anymore. I opened the bag and taped it back up. The track clips are sealed. Two extra sealed couplers, and a sealed "smoke" tube. Everything is in mint, perfect condition, and works perfect. This unit was $425.00 new, in 2009, from what my research has found. All of these sets are just skyrocketing, and this one will be no exception. Special note; the two clear windows to the sliding doors of the engine popped out, and were laying inside the cab. They are not broken, and like new, but they need put back in. Looks like they may have been glued in. They are pictured below the engine. The box is NOT in perfect shape, and does have general wear, and two big rips on the lid. (I have shown this in my last photo.) They are pretty clean tears, and no repairs to the box have been attempted, so you could make it look pretty dang good, with a little bit of time. The display windows in the front of the box are nice with no damage. I think overall the box displays real great and is pretty solid, but again, it is not perfect. I am an expert packer, and already have this packed up. The track is secured to the back, inside of the Styrofoam with cardboard taped to the Styrofoam from the factory, I did the same to the front of the box, after securing the set inside the Styrofoam with paper towels. This will keep everything from shifting inside the Styrofoam, and inside the box. Nothing is going to move inside of this rare set when shipped. It is re-boxed after all of this, ensuring safe travels to your destination. Of course, I only charge actual shipping, so if you pay more, I will refund the difference.
