Vintage Antique Fireman Wool Uniform Frock Coat, Hazleton, Pa., Fire Dept. 1905 - $295 - (Hazleton, PA)
Dated Fireman' wool 6 panel frock coat. Inside liner pocket has tag indicating coat was made by Philip Fey a well known tailor of the day in Hazleton, PA. The tag is dated 1905 with names of two men who may have owned it. This coat is as near to perfect as you can get. No moth holes, no rips, no snags, no lose or separating seems.The buttons are as tight and shine like the day it was made. Button holes are perfectly formed and tight as new.All buttons front, back and sleeves are present and marked HORSTMANN - PHILADELPHIA.There is no size markings. I would guess a size 40 - 42.Top shoulder/sleeve seem to sleeve/cuff end is approximately 24.5 inches.Shoulder seem across to shoulder seem is approximately 21 inches.Top of collar down center back to waist seem is approximately 21 inches.Top of collar down center back to coat bottom edge is approximately 45 inches. Included with this coat is an original Fireman' Dress Uniform hat with badge. This hat IS NOT from the same era as the coat.I can not date the hat but it is modern. The hat badge is from Westfield, NJ not Hazleton, PA. Size approximately 7 1/8 - 7 1/4. Shown in this listing is a 1890's early 1900's Cabinet Card photograph of a Hazleton, PA. Fireman wearing the exact style wool frock coat. As you can see the photo was taken at a Hazleton, PA. photographer's studio.Fireman cabinet card is not included in this sale.
