This auction is for a Spanish-Islamic bronze mortar and pestal Cir: 16th Centruy. The globular body with a row of raised prunts below bands of incised lines. The mortar sports a fine even patina with the body measuring 3.25 in tall, 4 in across at the widest with a mouth opening of 2in. The pestal measures 5 in. The pair together weigh 2lbs exactly.
