~ Unusual 19th c AMERICAN, 4-vane Surveying Vernier Compass, Cincinnati Cased ~ A very unusual compass with a set of vanes attachable to the main sight vanes for vertical angles plus/minus 10 degrees. This is a huge and heavy compass with 6" needle and 8" main sight vanes. Together with an outkeeper and original compass cover. The ball and socket joint is lacking.
