13" Cut Away Ludwig 6-ply Shell - $30 - (Burlington, ON)
This Buy It Now auction is for a 13" Round X 5-3/4 Deep Cut away of a late 70's early 80's LUDWIG 13" X 12" Concert tom shell. It's the bottom un-drilled portion of the concert tom. It's 6-ply Maple Polar Mahogany. I had planned to turn this into a 13" X 5.5" Snare. But don't have the time to put into it. The shell was cut down by a Professional custom drum builder. I had the shell cut 5-3/4" deep so that there was room to true up the shell and cut new baring edges. The shell is in great shape and appears to be round. The are no cracks, splits, Ply separation, water or moisture damage. The Inner ply is maple and the outer is Mahogany. I removed the original White cortext wrap as carefully as I could but the Mahogany did sustain some cosmetic damage. I use a little wood filler to fill in the spots. I wasn't concerned about it cause I was going to re-wrap the shell. The shell still retains it's original clear interior. Please note there is no hardware or wrap. What you see is what you get.
