General Oliver Otis Howard 1900 Autograph on Lincoln Memorial U Stationary - $345 - (Macks Creek, MO)
This is a full letter written and signed by Oliver Otis Howard in July of 1900. It was a response to W.W. Davis an Autograph Collector from Sterling, Ill.. Davis was also a lecturer and newspaper correspondent. This autograph is guaranteed to be authentic. During that time General Howard was the managing director of Lincoln Memorial University which he helped establish in 1895 for the benefit of the Tennesse people of the area. He had a distinguished character as a General in the Civil War. Helped found Howard University & then Lincoln Memorial University. This letter is written on Lincoln Memorial University stationary and is in very good condition. The upper right hand corner was torn off when it was removed from an autograph collection book but that does not take away from the letter. A copy of W.W. Davis' calling card is included.
