Croatia: Mario Novak Table Book 2007 - $75 - (Waco, TX)
This is a beautiful coffee table book. The book is listed for sale at two other websites for more than $4,000. It is offered here at the more reasonable price based on a previous E-Bay sale. The book contains photographs by Mario Novak with beautiful pictures (some are two page spreads of more than 20 inches.) This 14" X 11" book has 340 pages, full color, 11" X 14" and cloth bound by hand, with superb printing in Italy by ArtGrafiche. The poetic, in-depth, and informative text is by Damir Konestra. "All photography done by Mario Novak was on large and medium format film, Fuji Velvia 50, probably one of the last books to be photographed in this manner. Some of the cameras were hand-made, 6 X 12 cm. The other large format cameras included 10 X 12 cm and 6 X 7 cm." From the dust cover fly leaf: "Croatia is not a collection of images, it is the experience of Croatia in one long breath, one uninterrupted journey, from Ilok to Savudrigi to Dubrovnik: breathing, living, meeting the people of Croatia, seeing the land through their eyes, their soul.
