BUESCHER 400 "Top Hat & Cane" ALTO SAXOPHONE - Beautiful Condition!! Vintage 1950 Original Lacquer - Serial # 330833 My father was the photographer for the Buescher and Selmer catalogs when I was a teenager. My 1st Tenor in 9th grade was a Buescher Aristocrat which I loved because Buescher quality and sound back then was amazing! Duke Ellington's entire sax section was playing Buescher's in the 1940s - 50s. I've collected vintage Buescher saxophones for many years and already parted with several. I kept two of them as the most difficult to bid farewell to - this beautiful Buescher Top Hat & Cane Alto and a Buescher Key of C Soprano Saxophone ( see my current listings for Soprano description). After 80 years on this amazing planet, it is time for me to pass on some of my treasures to others who will appreciate and care for them. I am stilling playing saxophones and flutes professionally with my Selmer Mark VI Tenor sax, Yanagisawa Soprano, and Buescher Aristocrat Alto (didn't want to scratch the 400 on a gig). No - the Mark VI won't be for sale until I lose my teeth. It will be difficult to find another Top Hat & Cane Alto in this excellent playing and cosmetic condition. No dents or scratches, no past repairs to body or keys, bright, clean finish. Original Lacquer, all pads & mechanisms in top condition. Adjusted by my repair technician this last year.
