Collins 30L1 HF amplifier ham amateur radio 811A linear round emblem bad relay - $500 - (Brockport, PA)
This is a used round emblem Collins 30L-1 ham radio HF amplifier with (4) brand new Svetlana tubes (white ceramic bases) with new Harbach power supply (1n5408 rectifiers and 220uf 450vdc electrolytics). when I bought the amplifier there was evidence of a flashover and I replaced the 47 ohm grid resistors and tubes at the same time i replaced the power supply. The relay will not engage and I have isolated it to the relay coil and the 2k 7w in parallel with it, they both seem to be "open". I am selling the unit "as-is" and you can replace the relay and resistor. The power supply shows 2000 vdc with no load after the Harbach installed. resting current is approx 120ma or so with bias resistor 39 ohms (per rev 9 manual, not 47 ohms per older revisions). The cabinet has been repainted and looks good. The power cord has been replaced. The trim ring has been repaired and painted. the front panel looks pretty good as you can see in the pictures. the meter works and you can see the plate unloaded voltage in one of the pictures and the resting current in another. the feet look good. I will include a 120 vac triple pole double throw relay you may be able to use (coil resistance is 2,314 ohms), (note: the transmit relay line voltage is -170vdc and it takes approx 75ma to pull it in (when grounded) so a "buffer" of some kind is required to use with newer solid state radios) the inside looks clean, variable capacitors look good, fan runs good and is in generally decent shape other than the relay and am selling "as-is" due to the relay, no returns, sale final. This unit is heavy (38#) and large (14 3/4 x 7 3/4 x 13 3/4) and I will pack it well and insure it and will ship UPS ground. Any shipping charge more than $5 over actual will be refunded.
