Hallicrafters SX 96 Communications Receiver 1955 - $225 - (Centuria, WI)

bought used and had it recapped and re-tubed. Routine maintenance for a receiver of this age. All functions work good, sensitive, but needs a proper antenna and ground. Meter works, and lights. Switches are good. No issues to report. This receiver was built without a product detector, but BFO/SSB works just fine. My greatest thrill on this rig was back in 2012, when conditions were good, and on 20 meters, hearing an Iowa ham trying to DX contact Japan over the North pole one Friday nite, and the pile up of Japanese hams trying to be the next in line to reach this man. Here's hoping conditions will be that good again.
