1979 Fender International Series Stratocaster Moroccan Red w/ OHSC 1979 Fender International Series Stratocaster Moroccan Red w/ OHSC The Fender International color series was introduced in early 80s as Fender was nearing the end of the CBS era. These guitars were similar to their American Standard counter parts but with a new set of short lived colors like Maui Blue, Taupe and this super cool Moroccan Red. This example has a 1979 serial number but it was actually made in 1980 which is common in the guitars from this series. It has pickups and pots that all date to 1980. At some point this one was routed for a bridge humbucker and then meticulously put back to stock with the original parts. They even touched up the finish under the guard. Overall it is really clean, all original guitar and it sounds fantastic. There are a couple small dings on the body and a few slight signs of crazing in the finish. The neck is in equally clean condition and the original frets don't show any wear. This is one of the cleanest Strats from this era we have had in some time.
