Epiphone vintage arch top, 1953 Triumph Regent Guitar - $2,275 - (Woodstock, NY)

Epiphone's when made in New York were considered to be finely made jazz guitars on par with Gibson's . Why? because they are hand carved instruments with solid quality woods made by craftsman who were European trained by the old masters in carving cello's and violins. This resulted in superior tone when compared to other top guitar makers.This particular epiphone Triumph model is in perfect playing order. New Frets, low action, with a modified custom built in ,single, top mounted pickup designed by Lindy Fraline was created for it. The tone is well balanced and life like because this original top is solid spruce and 65 years old, not plywood veneers like most model arch tops. That is what sets this epiphone apart . The guitar has had repair work to its bindings , a replaced custom vintage replica pickguard, and a repair to a hole in the top years back that was so beautifully done its hardly noticeable. The original finish and rare color is there and has been oversprayed with clear lacquer on the top and back of neck which has a very comfortable shape. The neck width of 1 11/16. Everything was checked and anything it needed it got done with no expense spared.. I have 38oo invested in the guitar and it plays and sound as good as guitars twice that cost. It is a very clean attractive instrument for its age with normal signs of use. A Guardian nylon padded gig bag is included.
