Antique Lead Boston Bull Terrier BookendThe bookend measures ~6 inches high x 5 inches wide. It weighs 3 lbs, which is very heavy for its size.The paint is in very good condition. I have confirmed that "The Collectors Encyclopedia of Bookends" by Kuritsky and DeCosta p. 101, plate 529 lists this item as "Standing Tall", Circa 1925. (I can send a copy of the page upon request, but I cannot upload due to copyright issues.) The pattern is listed as rare. HOWEVER, the books lists that the item is iron. While bookend I have appears to be identical to the one in the book, it is not iron. Response to question: All of the dogs I have posted were collected by my mother in the 1970s and 80s. She has taken the ones she can to her new place and asked me to sell the rest for her.
