An exceptional custom contemporary desk in tiger maple and walnut designed by Stephen Huneck of St. Johnsbury, VT, with rectangular two tone top in figured maple and walnut with breadboard ends and pegged construction, surmounting a center kneehole flanked by gilt carved quarter fan decoration, two fitted drawers over two raised panel doors, opening to storage compartments with a slide out shelf on each side. The desk features raised panels throughout, and is finished with molded edge base trim and painted dog pulls, a common theme in Huneck’s creations. He has become known as a self taught sculptor, author, and furniture maker, with dogs being a strong influence in his designs. The desk is in excellent overall condition, with minimal surface wear and imperfections. Signed with several names along the underside of the base. A great desk for any dog lover!Item ID: 5990
