K97 Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings "Masatoshi", long point - $1,200 - (Sacramento, CA)

This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is signed "Sanjo ju Masatoshi ?????", shinogi-zukuri shape with okissaki (long point), Edo period ca. 1600 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy notare temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada, shows tiny coarse forgings on shinogi-ji but no opening and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard, no crack, no dent and in excellent condition. The handle is tight fit with iron fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is no loose, no cut also in good condition. Tsuba is nadekaku shape copper tsuba with nice patina. It measures 13+1/8" cuttinge, 1+1/8" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch, 3+1/8" long point and 21+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Payment due within 3 days auction end.
