1822 Capped Bust Half Dollar- PCGS AU53 - O-106a R3 - VLDS - ex Stewart Witham - $875 - (Hershey, PA)

This is a very nice 1822 Capped Bust Half Dollar. It is the O-106a variety with a rarity of R3 - VLDS but cracks are not sufficiently developed to call it an O-106b which is R5. Graded AU53 by PCGS - lustrous (much more so than the pictures indicate) with colorful toning. ex Stewart P. Witham who was the founder and member number 001 of the Bust Half Nut Club.
