Vintage Steiff Father Bear - $450 - (Summit, NJ)

This handsome Steiff teddy bear was issued in 1980 to commemorate Steiff's 100th anniversary, and so is known to collectors as Papa Bear or Jubilee Bear. As Steiff's first ever limited edition (only 5,000 were made for the American market; another 6,000 in Germany), he is a faithful tribute to the world's first teddy bear, with construction, fabric and stitching conformed to replicate the historic 1903 bear.He includes his raised Steiff button and flag, but is without his original box or limited edition certificate.
