We are pleased to be offering today set of six stout and sturdy oversize tiger sawn oak chairs that date from the 1880s. What a great looking set of chairs! It consists of a set of four oversize side chairs that are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 48 inches high to the top of the carved finial and 19 inches high to the seat. The two arm chairs are 26 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 52 inches high to the top of the finial post and 21 inches high to the seat. The cherubs that are holding up the stout tiger sawn arms are 7 inches long, 9 inches high and 3.5 inches thick. Both arm chairs are identical with berried post, top finial, reeded acanthus carved front legs, fluted back legs and reeded carvings. The upholstery is an antique wine with tassels on the seats and on the top. Five of the seats are in good condition, but there is one that a cat must have gotten to and it would need to be reupholstered. The chairs are finished in an old finish that appears to have a little white rubbed into it at one time, but it appears to be a brownish oak. You are getting all six heavy chairs for one money.
