French quilt Boutis Pique wool challis purple green - $155 - (Burlington, VT)

~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~An absolute beauty but sadly this textile has seen better days! ~~* This quilt is from Provence and is one of the most fascinating. This quilt is made using a block printed wool challis fabric, which was either used as a shawl or perhaps was printed to be specifically made into a quilt with a fenetre design. The backing is a purple silk and cotton mix fabric. The fabric was printed using what appears to be aniline dyes, of bright purples, greens fascia and brown ! Fabulous ground pattern. This textile is ideal for design inspiration or study only as it's in very poor condition ~ it's very important to view the photographs closely. The quilting is fabulous for study! Please use the zoom feature on the photographs as this is by far the best way to see the condition closely ~ Hand quilted with a light cotton batting. ( quilt 1010) MEASUREMENTS : This lovely quilt measures 59 inches by 59 inches CONDITION: this lovely fabric is in as found unwashed condition ~VERY poor condition .
