Job's Tears are a pearl barley which can be grown as an ornamental flower and whose seeds have traditionally been strung as beads. Among the Cherokee, the beads of Job's Tears are called corn beads and have been used for adornment for generations. It is said the plants sprang up along the Trail of Tears during the forced relocation of the Cherokee people. They can also be used to make a cold soup and there may be other uses I am unaware of. They certainly are beautiful. I will send about two dozen of the seeds in a packet - enough to harvest a quart jar full in the fall.
