Japanese Kanzashi Traditional Hair Accessory Vintage Lot of 2 - $40 - (Honolulu, HI)
Traditionally kanzashi was used as a hair ornament to adorn traditional Japanese hair styles. Today kanzashi can be used by the modern woman to accessorize a ponytail or an up-do. Use it in your hair to go to work or out to dinner. The first kanzashi shown is a vintage, mid century, Japanese bekkou faux tortoise shell kanzashi. There is an intricate design of two peacocks formed from gold like filament, and adorned with 2 white rhinestones, 2 red rhinestones, and 1 blue rhinestone. This design sits on the tortoise shell. This kanzashi measures 5". It is a charming hair accessory. The second kanzashi is a translucent amber resin kanzashi in the shape of 5 petals, and each petal has tiny beads and at least one rhinestone imbedded in each petal. Note: some beads have fallen off. There is some discoloration due to age and wear. This kanzashi measures 4-1/4". This kanzashi is also vintage, mid century. Be sure to view all photos.
