OUTSTANDING "Martha's Vineyard" Grapevine Applique Antique Quilt! This GORGEOUS cotton “Martha's vineyard" grapevine quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a wonderful grapevine border. It measures 72" X 84" and is in excellent condition, with a few light staining spots The quilting is superb, with quilting around the applique and in straight line. The batting is thin. I’ve sold a few quilts from this same collection. All were made by a lady who’s family ran a country general store in Louisiana. She would lower a quilt rack and work on the quilt when no customers were in the store. She had discontinued making them around 1920 - 1930, we believe this one was made pre 1917, the specificity is due to dating it at around a specific child’s birth.
