STAND:Made with solid high quality brass with a nice wood base and is highlighted with small glass diamonds. GLOBE:Each country on the globe is a different gemstone with the oceans looking like mother of pearl.Not only is the globe illuminated but it is also motorized and rotates when switched on.The plug in cord has a double on/off switch which allows you to either illuminate the globe, turn on it's rotation. Gives you the choice to do either or both at the same time. Have taken several pictures with light on to try and show the globe's motoized rotation.
