ANTIQUE 1875 REPRODUCTION BULL DOG MECHANICAL CAST IRON BANK - $595 - (Zanesville, OH)

Antique reproduction Bull Dog Mechanical cast iron bank with glass eyes. Balance a coin on the bull dog nose or place it in his open mouth and push his tail down and the coin goes down his mouth into the bank. Made in the 1870's. This is marked on metal plug on bottom Pat. Feb 2 1875. It reads on base on one side Bull Dog Bank. On bottom it reads Reproduce D. From original in collection of the Book of Knowledge. This cast iron dog measures 7 1/2" tall by 7" long by 5 1/2" x 3"-made of solid cast iron. No cracks or damage that I can see. This was made by The J & E Stevens Company. Normal wear.
