This auction is for a pamphlet that features the complete text of a public lecture entitled:"REFORM IN ORGAN BUILDING. By Thomas Casson: A Lecture Delivered to the Birmingham and Midland Musical Guild, 4th February, 1888." -Published by William Reeves, London, 1888. It was also published in the journal/magazine "The Musical Standard" and this is an offprint, in green paper wraps, 16 pages, including several diagrams, and printed by The New Temple Press in London, England. It measures about 5 x 9 inches, and is in quite excellent condition for its age. A bit of chipping on the edges of the cover, and a former owner's name has been blacked out toward the top of the front cover. But otherwise it is completely intact with no writing, no stains or soiling, and no missing or torn pages. Please see the scans for more detail. A rare publication of interest to anyone who follows musical history, the development of instruments, and so on.
