Antique William Hall & Son 239 Broadway New York Wooden 1 Key Flute Wood - $400 - (Buffalo, NY)

Up for sale is a rare William Hall and Son antique wood flute. It is 16.5 inches long and features four segments and eight total holes including one with a brass key. The wood shows a beautiful grain and is stamped at various locations with the maker's name including one that says "William Hall & Son 239 Broadway N. York." There is a small crack on the end with the brass key (see photo), but it does not travel the length of the segment. According to my research in Musical Instrument Makers of New York: A Directory of the Eighteenth-And Nineteenth-Century Urban Craftsmen this flute would have been made between 1847 and 1874.
