Large Modernistic 1960 African Shona Zimbabwe Stone Carving Sculpture Deer - $1,850 - (Brockway, PA)

We have here a fabulous African Shona carved stone of Steenboks measuring 39" height and 44" width for unreserved auction. The carvings of the Shona people are considered to be the most important African art movement of the 20th century. This sculpture represents the modernistic art of midcentury Africa with it's expression of tradition and connection with African animal wildlife. This was a great estate find, it was told that this rock carving was brought directly from Africa to it's home in Pennsylvania. Because of it's size it must be picked up at this location.
