We didn't fully connect because we don't own a ipad. Batteries were charged and robot powered and and moved, spoke great. I recommend you watch some online tutorials before purchasing to see his capabilities and connecting requirements. I could see this being a highly entertaining item, but I work 12 to 14 hr days and no time to enjoy.
