GOTOH MUSEUM COLLECTION: ASPECTS OF JAPANESE BEAUTY 1 of 1000, compare @ $200+ - $40 - (Idyllwild, CA)

THE GOTOH MUSEUM COLLECTION: ASPECTS OF JAPANESE BEAUTY: From 1980, a finely-crafted volume illustrating the evolution of Asian art through ceramics, painting, metalwork, calligraphy, and other art forms found in the collection of Japan's renowned Gotoh Museum. Includes Chinese objects from the Ch'in period (circa 300 BC) through the Ching Dynasty (circa 1700 AD) and Japanese objects from the Tumulus Period (circa 300 AD) through mid Edo (circa 1700 AD). This rare book is bound in silk-covered boards. It is #784 of only 1000 copies printed; few of these ever come up for sale. The book lacks its original slipcase. It suffered some water exposure which has created a rippling effect to the top and bottom edges of about a dozen leaves. There is also some minor soiling to the back cover. Aside from these flaws the book shows little age or use: certainly still a presentable copy of this scarce collector's item.Measures just under 12" X 14", 128 pages; the text is in English. Ships promptly & securely.
