Red Wing Pottery, Rare Cobalt Blue Vase, 229 Oak Leaf Pattern, Art Deco - $140 - (Osage, IA)

This is a wonderful and very rare vase from Red Wing. It was featured in the 1931 catalog. The ground is a very deep cobalt blue - it looks almost black. The vase has an oak leaf pattern around the bottom half and is number 229. It is not marked. It is in very good condition - no chips or cracks. It has does crazing all over, lights scuffs & scratches. It also has a few glaze pops, thin glaze in spots and a little skipped glaze along the bottom edge (factory flaws). Some of the glaze pops show as little, white dots but not all those dots are pops. Some are very thin glaze. This was a tough one to photograph - sorry for the odd glare in some of the photos. Approx. Dimensions: 4 1/2" d X 6 1/2"h
