AMAZING BRASS LOBSTER AUTOMATON SEAN ASHDOWN - $595 - (Owls Head, ME)

Amazingly constructed brass lobster automaton by award-winning artist Sean Ashdown, circa 1970s. Ashdown was born in Bermuda, and studied art in London and Mexico. Based in California until his death a few years ago, he sold his automata on the Renaisaance Festival circuit. When the lobster is rolled the antennae bristle, the tail lashes up and down, and the claws open and close. Measures about 14 inches long. Truly spectacular piece. Free postage within the U.S.
