Valve Trombone 1880's Silver - $560 (Matthews) - $560 - (Charlotte, NC)

I have a Goumat and Co. 3 valve tenor trombone, 7 1/8 bell diameter. It is from the 1870's-1880's and is made of soft silver, some people call it German silver. If you are familiar with the 1st Brigade Band in the Milwaukee area this has the same mellow sound of the German silver horns from the Civil War. I had all of the dents professionally removed and loose solider joints repaired. The valves are smooth and fast but do leak, typical of over a 100 yrs of use. It is a wonderful sounding and playing horn. I have the original leather case, but it is in very bad condition and would only be useful as a pattern.
