Fender Fire Red Jaguar bass - $740 - (Emmetsburg, IA)
Serial Number: R 067730 Made in Japan. With HSC. I purchased this on Reverb. Of all the basses Fender sells—and I have owned all models at one time or another--, the Jag is my favorite. I prefer American-made Fenders as a going concern, but the two MIJ Jags I’ve owned—this one included—have been and are remarkable. I also find the Jag the most aesthetically appealing of the Fender basses. The Reverb seller’s description follows. I've had this bass for a long time and it's always been great to me. Just got it back from the shop and had it set up and the jack cleaned out and everything, so all the electronics are in great shape. Controls include three switches on the lower horn that act as an on/off control for the bridge pickup, an on/off control for the neck pickup, and a series/parallel selector. On the upper horn, there's a switch to select active or passive mode and two inset wheels to shape bass and treble when in active mode.
