BANJO – 1920s Ludwig Kingston 4-string Tenor ModelThe Ludwig Kingston Model Tenor Banjo, c. 1926, occupied the top of the Chicago company’s banjo line. This banjo is extremely ornate and still is a wonderful playing instrument. This Ludwig Kingston Tenor Banjo has a natural lacquer finish, walnut neck and (bound) resonator with a beautiful band of marquetry, ebony fretboard, diamond pearl inlays, nineteen frets, 10-15/16" chrome plated brass rim, arm rest, top tension adjustment, logo on tailpiece, headstock with engraved inlay and script logo. Resonator edges are multi-laminated as well. It was purchased new and has been carefully maintained in one family for over 80 years. It was played professionally in St. Louis Dixieland bands and has a new head with a new specially manufactured chrome plated brass rim to replace the original pot metal rim.
