1955 ,Country Western , very good + condition , one of the very 1st produced (with letter from Gruhn Guitars) The Country Western is the same model as the Southern Jumbo but with a natural finish top.... otherwise the guitars are identical , this is a fabulous sounding guitar that really nails the Gibson rich woody Dreadnaught sound. Spruce top , mahogany back & sides , nylon saddle , no cracks , no overspray , perfect intonation , lots of lacquer checking-usual for a 60 year old guitar ,original frets & fretboard in excellent shape , all original except buttons of tuners and the bridge pins upgraded to plain elephant ivory pins with no dot inlay- original bridge pins included. Pro neck re-set October 2003 , Pickguard extends to sound hole with no wood or rosette of sound hole showing.. very rare , super light weighs only 4.2 lbs. Nut width 1 11/16 " ; Single-bound, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with double parallelogram inlays , & Brazilian Rosewood bridge ; No Cracks , No Breaks , No String Buzz - strung now with silk n steel. The lariat label (inside sound hole) was used only in 1955 when the Country Western model first was designated, Bridge tight to top not lifting – no bulge to top , no cleats .
