NICE ANTIQUE EDISON HOME CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH UPPER MECHANISM MOTOR BEDPLATE PART - $100 - (Holden, MA)

Up for bid is a nice antique Edison Home cylinder phonograph top bedplate mechanism. It measures approximately 13 inches long by 7 inches wide by 4 inches tall at the tallest point. The serial number is 271388. Overall it is in good condition. It appears to be complete with all parts and other components, with the exception of the reproducer. The exterior is quite dirty and dusty throughout and could use a good cleaning. The left side pulley is especially dirty throughout. The paint shows moderate to heavy scratching, scuffing and wear throughout. There are many spots of paint bubbling throughout, especially throughout the left portion. There are some areas of paint flaking in various places, mainly along the exterior edges throughout and along the left side pulley casting. Almost all of the original pinstriping along the exterior edges is still visible. The mandrel shows heavy surface scratching, scuffing, pitting, discoloration and wear throughout. The mandrel is slightly loose and therefore some adjustment will be needed to the right side securing latch. The mandrel spins freely as it should. The underside is moderately dirty and dusty throughout with some spots of caked on grease and oil throughout. See pictures for a better idea of condition. Item Photos click to enlarge
